Rava Mawa Cake in Air Fryer
⚠️Important Tip: Fill the cake tin with only a thin, approximately ½-inch layer of batter. Do not fill the entire tin. Bake the remaining batter separately in another tin, using the same method. Since the cake layer is thin, it will take less time to bake, so keep checking for doneness.
Ingredients
For the Cake
* 1 cup semolina (rava/sooji)
* ½ cup fresh curd
* ½ cup milk
* 100 g mawa (khoya)
* ¼ cup sugar
* ¼ cup ghee
* 1 tsp baking powder
* ¼ tsp baking soda
* ¼ tsp cardamom powder
* Extra milk, if required
For the Sugar Syrup
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup water
* A few strands of saffron
* A pinch of cardamom powder
For Decoration
* Chopped nuts
* Rose petals
* Edible silver leaf (varak), optional
Process
1.Mix the semolina, curd, and milk well. Let the mixture rest for 20 minutes.
2.Add the mawa, sugar, ghee, baking powder, baking soda, and cardamom powder. Mix everything well.
3.Check the batter consistency. It should be thick but pourable. Add a little extra milk if required.
4. Grease a cake tin with oil or ghee and dust it lightly with flour or semolina.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and level the top.
6. Prepare a sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water together. Add saffron and cardamom powder.
7. Once the cake is baked, pour the hot sugar syrup over the hot cake.
8. Garnish with chopped nuts, rose petals, and edible silver leaf.
Air Fryer Settings
* Preheat: 180°C for 4 minutes
* Bake: 160°C for 15–16 minutes, or until the top turns lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
