Can just $100 cover an entire day of food in one of America's greatest food cities? I spent the day exploring Chicago one meal at a time, from a hearty breakfast to legendary local favourites, while trying to stay within budget. Along the way I also experienced one of the city's most iconic architecture cruises and discovered why Chicago is so much more than just deep dish pizza.

Every stop had its own surprise. Some dishes completely lived up to the hype, others did not, and a few left me wondering why locals love them so much. That's what makes travelling through food so much fun. Every city has its own personality and every meal tells a different story.
