Can you actually grow a tropical vine like bitter melon (bitter gourd) in the cooler climate of the Pacific Northwest? In this video, I am sharing the full seed-to-harvest results of my Seattle-area gardening experiment! Bitter melon loves intense heat and humidity, which makes growing it in a mild PNW summer a real challenge. Watch step-by-step as I sprout the seeds indoors, transplant them outside, and share my best microclimate tips for keeping the roots warm and maximizing fruit production. If you live in a cooler growing zone and want to know if this unique, healthy vegetable is worth adding to your backyard layout, follow along to see our final harvest results!
