Mbakibka comes together in one pot. You can make this Libyan pasta with lamb, chicken, seafood, etc. It somehow tastes better made on an open fire.
Instruction:
First, add olive oil and diced onion to your pot; cook until softened. Add the lamb, chili powder, turmeric, salt, and tomato paste. Mix and cook for 10 minutes. Optionally, add chili peppers. Top the pot with water, add the lid, and let boil for 45 minutes. Next, add the pasta directly into the pot. Traditionally, we use the ditalini shape. Spaghetti or penne are other common ones. I was excited to finally use a pack of ditalini I brought back from Libya last summer and had been saving for the perfect recipe. Once the pasta is cooked, add fresh basil or dill, and enjoy!
