Bringing back my illustrated recipe series with one of my favorite seafood pastas from Puglia: linguine allo scoglio. Meaning “of the rocks,” allo scoglio is inspired by the fresh seafood found along Italy’s rocky coastline.

Made with linguine, clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari and cherry tomatoes, this classic Italian seafood pasta is light, fresh and full of briny Mediterranean flavor. The seafood remains the star, while the cherry tomatoes add little bursts of sweetness. It’s the kind of dish that instantly transports me back to summers spent by the sea in Puglia.

Follow along for more illustrated Italian recipes, traditional pasta dishes, Italian food stories and pages from my illustrated cookbook and travel journals. What Italian recipe should I illustrate next?
