Skillet Beef Spaghetti in Creamy Garlic Cheese Sauce
Ingredients:
1½ lbs ground beef
1 lb spaghetti
6 tablespoons butter
9 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar
¾ cup grated Parmesan
6 oz Velveeta, cubed
3 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup reserved pasta water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Set aside ½ cup of the pasta water, then drain.
Heat the olive oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and sprinkle with the salt, black pepper, and onion powder.
Break the beef into crumbles as it cooks. After about 8 minutes, drain off the extra grease and place the browned beef on a plate.
Turn the heat down to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring for about 1 minute without browning the garlic.
Pour in the heavy cream, then add the Velveeta and softened cream cheese. Stir over medium-low heat until both cheeses melt into the cream.
Add the sharp cheddar and Parmesan in small portions, stirring after each addition. Once the sauce is creamy, mix in the Italian seasoning.
Stir the cooked beef back into the skillet and let it heat through for 1 minute.
Add the drained spaghetti and turn it through the beef and cheese sauce with tongs. Use a little reserved pasta water if the sauce is thicker than you like.
Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the spaghetti and serve warm.
